The Short Guide

The short guide is intended to provide an easy introduction and reference to the main points of the two laws affecting children and their families introduced into the Bailiwick of Guernsey in January 2010: The Children (Guernsey & Alderney) Law 2008 and the Criminal Justice (Children & Juvenile Court Reform) (Bailiwick of Guernsey) Law 2008.

The guide is a brief summary only. It should not be taken as an authoritative statement of the law. For more detailed understanding, it may be necessary to take legal advice, and/or read the laws themselves, together with the accompanying court rules, regulations and ordinances.
